How to Propagate a Pothos Plant

Is your pothos getting too long? Want to make another plant out of the one you have?  Let's propagate it!

1

Make the cut right below the root nodes, or the bumps on the stem.

Cut a clipping

2

Remove the bottom leaf.

You don't want a leaf submerged in water (or soil!).

3

Fill a jar with water

Make sure you have enough to cover the nodesl

4

Put your pothos clippings in water

Ensure that the nodes are fully covered in water.

5

Watch for roots

Roots will typically grow faster if the jar has some sunlight. They will begin to form in a few weeks.

6

Pot it!

Now you're ready to plant your pothos in a pot!
