How to Propagate a Rubber Plant Tree

If you have a rubber tree, there's a chance you want more of this beautiful plant! Here's how to propagate it.

Your best time to propagate your plant is in the late spring or early summer. To do this, cut off the top of the stem with several leaves attached. Remove the bottom leaves fand wash the sap from the stem.

Before You Begin: Take Your Cuttings

I personally like this method the best because I can see the roots forming! Make sure your cuttings are at least six inches long and have at least four leaf nodes. Change the water weekly and expect roots in about a month.

This begins with similar steps to the water technique: Prepare your cutting, then instead of placing it in water, dip the stem in rooting hormone powder and plant in a well-draining soil.
