How to Care for the Dwarf Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

The Ficus Lyrata Bambino is similar to it's cousin, the Ficus Lyrata, but has thicker, smaller and more rounded leaves and tends to be more bushier.

1

Light

Ideally they love bright, indirect light (such as through a sheer curtain). A large west facing window is perfect!

One key sign that your fiddle-leaf fig tree isn’t getting enough light is that it starts to drop leaves.

2

Water

Water thoroughly about once a week or when the top inch of soil feels dry.  Do the finger test – stick your finger a few inches into the soil. If it’s dry, water it, and if it’s still wet, don’t!

You can tell if your fiddle-leaf fig tree needs water by looking at the leaves. If they start to look droopy it’s time to water them! Under-watering them can result in a loss of leaves.

3

Soil

Choose a well draining soil. Ideally you want the soil to have chunky particles to encourage the water to move through and drain properly.
