Fishbone cacti do not require direct sunlight to survive. Place yours at least a 2 meters from direct sunlight. A filtering blind or sheer curtain on the window would be a great choice, too.

Unlike other cacti, the fishbone is not very drought tolerant. Not enough water can cause the leaves to wither. But be careful not to overwater, either!
Water your plant once a week or every other week. Allow it to dry out but not remain dry for long periods. Distilled, room temp water is best.

Fishbone cactuses are best kept in humid and warm conditions — think rainforest! The ideal temp is 60 to 78 degrees F and about 60% humidity.
